Latvian ministries request additional funding for 2015-2017

Ministries and other state institutions have requested a total of EUR 567.028 million for new political initiatives in 2015, EUR 941.31 million in 2016, EUR 1.199 billion in 2017, as the Finance Ministry's data indicates, cites LETA.

The majority of funds have been requested by the Education and Science Ministry – EUR 111.209 million – EUR 160.118 million in 2015, and EUR 176.664 million in 2017.

 

The Health Ministry, on the other hand, has requested EUR 110.173 million in 2015, EUR 223.622 million in 2016, and EUR 373.339 in 2017, while the Transport Ministry – EUR 91.131 million in 2015, EUR 143.104 million in 2016, and EUR 172.02 million in 2017.

 

The Ministry of Interior has requested additional EUR 56.006 million in 2015, EUR 105.273 million in 2016, and EUR 100.143 million in 2017, followed by the Defense Ministry – EUR 39.319 million in 2015, EUR 107.916 million in 2016, and EUR 146.377 million in 2017, and the Culture Ministry – 34.141 million in 2015, EUR 41.473 million in 2016, and EUR 42.901 million in 2017.

 

Other ministries have requested smaller sums, while several state institutions, such as the Presidential Chancery, Saeima, the Public Utilities Commission, and the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Center, have requested no funding.
