Lithuania's Audit Office has no reproaches upon use of EU Funds in 2012

The National Audit Office of Lithuania (NAOL) conducted an audit of the efficiency of the management and control system (MCS) for the use of 2007-2013 EU Structural Funds assistance and of the expenditure in the amount of LTL 3.64 billion (EUR 1.0billion) declared to the European Commission (EC), reports LETA/ELTA.

After the audit, the NAOL announced that it had found out no essential mistakes.

 

"For the second year in a row, we express the unconditional opinion about the correctness of the presented expenditure reports as well as about the efficiency of the management and control system (MCS) because no essential mistakes in the declared expenditures were found out and the management and control system is functioning sufficiently effectively," said Auditor General Giedre Svediene.

 

During the audit, the NAOL provided 53 remarks and recommendations on the improvement of the management and control system and remedying irregularities related to the declared expenditure to the MCS institutions.
