Lithuanian national budget collects less than expected in 5 months

According to the data of Lithuania's Ministry of Finance, in January-May 2013 the national budget collected a total of LTL 8.3 billion (EUR 2.4 billion) of revenues, which was by LTL 77,4 million (EUR 22.4 million) or by 0,9% less than projected, writes LETA/ELTA.

It was expected to receive a total of LTL 8.4 billion (EUR 2.4 billion) during the said period.

 

The state budget received a total of LTL 6.9 billion (EUR 2 billion) from January to May. It was planned to receive LTL 7.1 billion (EUR 2.05 billion), which is by LTL 169.4 million (EUR 49.1 million) or by 2.4% less than the actual revenues.

 

More than projected revenue was collected from personal income tax and the profit tax. In January-May 2013 revenues from the profit tax were LTL 262.9 million (EUR 76.1 million), which is by LTL 54 million (EUR 15.6 million), or by 25.9% more than projected since the plan was to collect LTL 208.9 million (EUR 60.2 million). During the first five months of the year, personal income tax generated LTL 1.7 billion (EUR 491 million), while the target was LTL 1.6 billion (EUR 465 million) meaning that the revenues from the tax were by LTL 92.3 million, or by 5.7% higher than projected.
