State suffered LVL 2.6 mln in losses due to spring floods

Print versionDue to this year's spring floods, the state suffered LVL 2.63 million in losses, according to ministries' estimates submitted to the Crisis Management Council's Secretariat.

State Fire and Rescue Service representative Inga Vetere informed LETA that, according to these estimates, the largest losses – LVL 1.49 million – were caused to the Environmental Protection and Regional Development Ministry's structural units. The ministry, however, points out that these are rough estimates and are likely to change.
The Transport Ministry's structural units suffered LVL 1.04 million in losses. The Agriculture Ministry will request LVL 64,000 in compensations from the state budget, the Interior Ministry – LVL 30,946, the Defense Ministry – LVL 3,285.
