The warning came in the context of Latvia's growth slowdown and the complicated situation on external markets, which will affect the country's budget as well.
Rimsevics lauded the government's policy of past years, which has resulted in Latvia becoming the fastest growing economy in the European Union. He also allowed for the possibility of Latvia remaining the bloc's fastest growing economy this year as well. While other countries continue to reduce expenditures, Latvia can focus on development, said the central bank's president.
