Gjensidige Baltic earns LVL 686,000 in profit in Q1

Insurance company Gjensidige Baltic, a subsidiary of Norway's Gjensidige Forsikring, achieved LVL 686,000 in profit in the first quarter of 2013, a threefold increase on the first quarter of 2012, when the company earned LVL 227,000 in profit, LETA/Nozare.lv was informed by the company.

Gjensidige Baltic written insurance premiums totaled LVL 12.1 million in the first three months of 2013.

 

The largest increase was recorded in health insurance, where the number of written premiums rose 10.7%. Gjensidige Baltic insurance premiums also increased in mandatory third party liability insurance – 10.9%, motor own damage insurance – 5.3%, as well as property insurance – 6.7%. Overall, compared to the first quarter of 2012, Gjensidige Baltic insurance premiums grew 8.9% in the first quarter of 2013.

 

The company paid out LVL 7.8 million in insurance claims in the first three months of 2013, compared to LVL 6.6 million in the corresponding period in 2012.
