In September 2012, Lithuania's net external assets of monetary financial institutions (MFIs) grew by LTL 909 million (EUR 263.5 million), to LTL 10.3 billion (EUR 2.9 billion) at the end of the month, Lithuania's central bank reports on Friday, October 26th.

Domestic credit increased by LTL 74.7 million (EUR 21.6 million) over the month as a result of an increase in credit to general government, writes LETA/ELTA.

This indicator rose by LTL 338.8 million (EUR 98.2 million) over the year following an increase in other MFIs' loans to non-financial corporations and general government as well as their holdings of debt securities issued by central government, the Bank of Lithuania said.
