If P&C Insurance increased its H1 profits to 12.4 mln euros in Baltic States

If P&C Insurance AS raised its profits earned in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania by half, to 12.4 million euros, writes Äripäev.ee/LETA.

The company collected a total of 61 million euros of insurance payments in the first half of 2012 in the three Baltic States, 2% more than last year when the company collected 59.9 million euros.

 

The insurance payments collected in Estonia amounted to 32.7 million euros, 0.5 million euros more than during the same period of time last year.

 

Indemnity payments made in the Baltic States from January to June amounted to 32.1 million euros – 13% less than last year. The payments made in Estonia amounted to 17.4 million euros while a year go the amount was 19 million euros.

 

Managing director of If P&C Insurance AS Andris Morozovs stated that Baltic insurance companies have had a slightly better time in the first half of 2012. “Last year’s winter was longer, but softer than we had gotten used to in the past few years,” he said, noting that this had also had positive impact on the financial results of the company in the first half of the year.
