Bank of Latvia's external reserves at EUR 5.607 bln at end-July

The Bank of Latvia's external reserves stood at EUR 5.607 billion (LVL 3.941 billion) at the end of July, which is 3.5% more than at the end of July 2011, when the central bank's external reserves were EUR 5.417 billion (LVL 3.8 billion), as the business portal Nozare.lv learned from the central bank.

At the end of June 2012, the Bank of Latvia's external reserves were at EUR 5.199 billion (LVL 3.643 billion), at end-May – EUR 5.39 billion (LVL 3.78 billion), at end-April – EUR 5.24 billion (LVL 3.67 billion), at end-March – EUR 5.37 billion (LVL 3.75 billion), at end-February – EUR 5.4 billion (LVL 3.8 billion), at end-January – EUR 4.7 billion (LVL 3.29 billion), writes LETA.

 

At the end of December of 2011, the central bank's external reserves were EUR 4.9 billion (LVL 3.4 billion).

 

The bulk of the Bank of Latvia's external reserves, EUR 5.177 billion (LVL 3.638 billion), was made up of foreign convertible currencies.

 

At the end of July, the central bank's gold reserves stood at EUR 328.12 million (LVL 230.5 million).

 

The Bank of Latvia's special drawing rights amounted to EUR 101.48 million (LVL 71.32 million), and reserve position in the International Monetary Fund – to EUR 70,000 (LVL 49,190).
