In the first five months of 2012, consolidated total budget recorded a surplus of LVL 31.7 million, according to the Finance Ministry's data.

In January-May 2012, consolidated total budget revenue was LVL 2.175 billion, expenditures – LVL 2.143 billion, writes LETA/Nozare.lv.

In May, consolidated total budget surplus reached LVL 55.2 million, compared to LVL 20.4 million in April.

Compared to the respective period in 2011, consolidated total budget surplus increased by LVL 259.4 million in January-May 2012 due to an LVL 78.7 million surplus in local government budget and a smaller deficit in consolidated state budget – LVL 47 million, including grants, donations and public derived persons.

A better situation in all budgets was mostly determined by tax and non-tax proceeds. Expenditure growth remained moderate, informs the Finance Ministry.
