In February external assets and liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania increased by 2.8 bln litas

In February 2010, external assets and external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania increased by 2.8 billion litas (810.61 million euros) and 358.2 million litas (103.7 million euros) respectively, the country's central bank reports. Both indicators amounted to 19.3 billion litas (5.58 billion euros) and 436 million litas (126.224 million euros) respectively at the end of the month.

Currency in circulation went up by 97 million litas (28.082 million euros) to 7.8 billion litas (2.258 billion euros) at the end of February, writes LETA/ELTA.

 

Resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania increased by 2.3 billion litas (665.86 million euros) to 8.6 billion litas (2.48 billion euros) at the end of the month. Central government deposits went up by 2.5 billion litas (723.76 million euros) to 6 billion litas (1.737 billion euros) at the end of February 2010, while deposits of other monetary financial institutions shrank by 271.2 million litas (78.513 million euros) to 2.5 billion litas (723.76 million euros) at the end of the month. Capital and reserves increased by 18.1 million litas (5.24 million euros) to 2.2 billion litas (636.91 million euros) at the end of February 2010.
