Estonia's government agreed to keep 2010 budget spending at the same level as in 2009 to ensure meeting European Union deficit terms next year.

Budget spending will equal 89 billion kroons, the Cabinet agreed in a late-night session yesterday (on September 22), according to an e-mailed statement from Prime Minister Andrus Ansip's press office.

Pensions and defense spending will remain unchanged and education spending will rise by one billion kroons to 11 billion, writes LETA.

The government plans to submit the budget to the parliament on September 30, it said.
