EUR 46 mln economized by ministries this year will be spent on reducing impact of Covid-19 crisis in Latvia

Ministries this year have economized EUR 46 million, and this money will be used to reduce the impact of Covid-19 crisis and for contingency funds, the government decided, cited LETA/BNS.
According to the Finance Ministry's report, ministries in 2020 have economized EUR 46 mln, of which EUR 19,683,356 will be transferred to the contingency funds, while EUR 26,262,884 will remain in disposal of ministries and will be used to reduce the impact of the Covid-19 crisis.
The ministry said that funds have been economized mostly in relation to cancelled trips and on-site events, transport expenses and fuel expenses, as well as cancelled public events, reduction of utilities costs and lower fuel prices.
