Consumer loans issued to Latvian households increased by 1.4% in H1

The amount of consumer loans issued to households in Latvia grew 1.4% or EUR 6.6 million in the first half of the year 2017 to EUR 493.9 million, reports LETA, according to the information from the Bank of Latvia.

Consumer loans issued to households for periods less than one year totaled EUR 127.7 million by the end of the first half of the year, up 2.7% or EUR 3.4 million from the end of 2016.

 

Consumer loans issued to Latvian households for a term of one to five years amounted to EUR 218.5 million at the end of the first half of this year, rising by 13.6% or EUR 26.2 million from the end of 2016, while consumer loans issued to households for a period longer than five years reduced by 13.5% or EUR 23 million to EUR 147.6 million euros.

 

Consumer loans with maturity between one year and five years accounted for the largest part or 44.2% of all consumer loans at the end of the first half of the year (39.5% in late 2016). Consumer loans with maturity longer than five years made up 29.9% (35% in late 2016), and consumer loans with maturity up to one year made up 25.9% (25.5% in late 2016).
