Half of Latvian banks post growth in their loan portfolios in Q1
Swedbank issued
EUR 3,302 bln in loans by the end of March 2017, or 0.4% more than in at the
end of 2016, the loan portfolio of Nordea's
branch in Latvia was EUR 2.669 bln, down 0.1%, and SEB Banka's loan portfolio decreased 0.4% to EUR 2.521 bln.
DNB Banka's loan
portfolio decreased 0.7% to EUR 1.49 bln, while Rietumu Banka's portfolio reduced 2.1% to EUR 1.27 bln.
In the meantime, Citadele's
loan portfolio increased 1.5%, ABLV Banka
posted a 3.4% rise, the Latvian branch of Danske
Bank posted a 6.2% rise, Norvik banka
posted a 0.04% rise, the Latvian branch of
OP Corporate Bank (formerly Pohjola
Bank) posted a 6.6% rise, the Latvian branch of BigBank posted a 5% rise, and Latvijas
Pasta Banka’s loan portfolio rose by 0.2%.
Loan portfolios shrank for 11 banks, including also for Rigensis Bank by 10.1%, Regionala Investiciju Banka by 1.9%, Meridian Trade Bank by 1.1%, PrivatBank by 3.2%, Bank M2M Europe by 16.1%, Expobank by 10.1%, and the Latvian
branch of Eesti Krediidipank by 1.4%.
