Estonia's Tartu adopts EUR 10.7 mln extra budget

The council of Tartu, second biggest city of Estonia, on Thursday adopted a supplementary budget for 2017 which increases the city's expenditures this year by 10.7 mln euros, reports LETA/BNS.
Of the extra money, 5.4 mln euros will be spent to finance
education and 4.3 mln to finance municipal projects.
Under the item of education spending, additional money has
been earmarked for increases in the salaries of kindergarten teachers,
assistant teachers and other personnel.
Several schools and kindergartens stand to get additional
money for the reconstruction of their buildings, and 1.6 mln euros will go
towards the construction and maintenance of roads and the construction of cycle
and pedestrian tracks.
Together with the extra budget, the size of the budget of
Tartu for this year is 170 mln euros.
