Latvian Interior Ministry demands EUR 52 mln for fight against terrorism and other priority measures

The Latvian Interior Ministry had demanded EUR 52 mln for priority measures in 2018, the ministry’s spokeswoman Alise Adamane reported LETA.

The Interior Ministry has submitted an application with 47 priority measures to the Finance Ministry and the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Center. The priority measures refer to 2018, 2019, and 2020.


The most important priorities are strengthening of the State Border Guard and state borders, strengthening of security in cyber security and anti-terrorism area and others.


As reported, on March 23, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a decree on the medium-term budget framework for 2018-2020 and the schedule for drafting next year's state budget. It said that by June 1 ministries have to submit to the Finance Ministry and Inter-Ministerial Coordination Center their proposals concerning priority measures and the funds necessary for their implementation.
