Jan-Sept loss of Estonian Health Insurance Fund totals EUR 31.8 mln

Print versionThe loss of the Estonian Health Insurance Fund in the first nine months of the year totaled 31.8 mln euros, while the budgeted loss for the period was 11 mln euros, reports LETA/BNS.

In the first three quarters of the year the fund financed
healthcare services in the amount of 564 mln euros which is nearly 33 mln euros
more than in the same period in 2015, the fund said. The planned volume of
healthcare services for that period was 549.2 mln euros.
Medications were compensated for in the amount of 99 mln
euros and benefits for temporary incapacity for work were paid out in the total
amount of 100 mln euros.
Compared with the first nine months of the year the funding of
medical care has increased the most in general medical care, the budget of
which has grown by 12% or nearly 8 mln euros.
