Baltic venture capitalists to set up cooperation body

The organizations of Baltic venture capitalists will gather in the southwest Estonian sea resort Parnu on Friday to establish an association of venture capitalists of the three countries aimed at promoting cooperation and marketing the Baltic region as a whole, according Eesti Paevaleht information said LETA/BNS.

While the the Baltic countries taken separately are
microscopic, the establishment of an umbrella organization enables us to divide
obligations, streamline cooperation and market the region as a whole,told the
chairman of the Estonian Private Equity
and Venture Capital Association (EstVCA), Kalmer Kikas.
"The purpose of the umbrella organization is to better
present the Baltic region to investors, to bring more attention and capital
here," said the head of the Estonian business angels network EstBAN, Heidi Kakko. Kakko said startups,
business angels and later phase investors alike stand to gain from this.
