Tax revenue growth slows down in Latvia

BC, Riga, 23.08.2016.Print version
The tax revenue growth rate in Latvia has slowed down this year compared to 2015, Kaspars Abolins, the head of the Treasury, said on the morning news program of the LNT on Tuesday, cites LETA.

He said that tax revenues this year were higher than last year and above the target but were growing at a a slower rate than in previous years because the economic growth had slowed down therefore one should not expect a significant surplus of tax revenue.

Revenue of personal income tax is currently below the target which is due to changes in the tax refund procedure but would level out eventually, Abolins said.

Latvia is one of the most stable countries in Europe in terms of the government debt, he added
