A coin folder and first day cover are to be released to commemorate 25 years since Estonia regained independence

The coin folder for the anniversary of Estonia regaining independence contains Estonian euro coins with the issue date 2016. The folder costs 25 euros and can be purchased from the online shop, 11 post offices across Estonia, and the Eesti Pank museum shop from 22 August, informs Bank of Estonia.

The first day cover for the return of independence is a postcard printed with a stamp that can be bought in the largest post offices across Estonia for 1.07 euros.


The coin folder contains eight different Estonian euro coins: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, and €1 and €2, and has a total value of €3.88. The issue date on the coins is 2016. The coins are minted by the Finnish mint and are in brilliant uncirculated finish in a presentation capsule in a specially designed folder.


The folder was designed by Vladimir Taiger and uses pictures by Tiit Veermäe and Tunne Kelam and from the national archive to commemorate the events of 25 years ago. The coin folder costs 25 euros and 20,000 have been produced. The folder will go on sale on 22 August.

The first day cover dedicated to the regaining of Estonian independence was designed by the artist Indrek Ilves, and 1500 are being printed. It costs 1.07 euros, which includes the price of a stamp for a letter within Estonia. The first day cover will go on sale from 21 August in large post offices across Estonia.
