Tender for Latvian State Revenue Service’s head ends without results

BC, Riga, 12.07.2016.Print version
The tender for the Latvian State Revenue Service’s general director has ended without any results, said Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers) in an interview with the Latvian public television on Tuesday, cites LETA.

None of the four candidates shortlisted in the second round of tender had been fit for the next round and the commission reported that the tender has ended with no results.

An agreement has been reached to look for candidates in the internal structures and without a tender, and Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola (Greens/Farmers) already has several candidates in mind.

According to Kucinskis, it is not worth announcing a new tender as it can end without a result again. "If the new solution is unsuccessful we will look for other variants," said Kucinskis.

The tender was announced on June 16 and the deadline for submitting applications was July 4. The panel assessing applicants for the vacant position had shortlisted four of the 11 candidates for the next round of the competition.

On May 30 this year Inara Petersone, who had been serving as the director general of the State Revenue Service since October 2013, tendered her resignation effective as of June 27.
