Lithuania’s current account surplus at 0.4% of GDP in Q1

BC, Vilnius, 20.06.2016.Print version
Lithuania recorded a current account surplus of 37.1 million euros for the first quarter of the year 2016, which accounted for 0.4% of GDP for the period, the Bank of Lithuania said on Monday, informs LETA/BNS.

Growing surpluses in the services and secondary income balances more than offset deficits in the primary income and foreign trade balances, the central bank explained.

In the first quarter of 2015, Lithuania ran a current account deficit of 318.8 million euros, which accounted for 3.9% of GDP for that period.
