Lithuania's current account deficit at 3% of GDP in January-September

Lithuania recorded a current account deficit of 855 million euros for the nine months through September 2015, which accounted for 3.1% of GDP for the period, according figures released by the central bank on November 12th, cites LETA/BNS.

The current account balance showed a surplus of 17.9 million euros, or 0.2% of GDP, for the third quarter and a surplus of 118.5 million euros for September alone.

 

The bank of Lithuania attributed the surplus in September to increased surpluses in the services and secondary income balances, at 206.9 million euros and 109.3 million euros, respectively.
