Total retail trade turnover increases 0.3% in August, 2015

Data of Latvian Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to July, the total retail trade turnover this past August rose 0.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices, writes LETA.

Retail trade in food products increased 0.2 %, whereas turnover of non-food products rose 0.4 %.


Compared to July, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in August fell 0.8 %.


A year ago - in August 2014, compared to July 2014 - turnover dropped 0.4 %.


Compared to August 2014, the total retail trade turnover in August 2015 increased 5.4 %, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices.


The increase in food commodity group comprised 3.1 %. In non-food commodity group, there was an increase of 6.9 %, including 11.9 % in retail sale of automotive fuel.


Total retail trade turnover at current prices rose 1.8 %, not taking into account the calendar influence.


In eight months of this year, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown 5.8 %, according to calendar adjusted data.


Retail trade in food products grew 2.7 %, and retail trade in non-food products increased 7.9 %.
