Estonian budget collects 48.5% of annual revenue in 6 months

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Estonian state budget collected revenue of 3.93 billion euros in the first six months of the year; this is 48.5% of the total amount planned in the budget, reports LETA.

As compared to a year ago, the revenue was up 1.9%.

 

The state budget collected 3.41 billion euros of tax revenue, by 7.4% more than at the same time last year, mainly thanks to bigger social tax and VAT collection.

 

The biggest revenue sources were the social tax revenue of 1.18 billion euros, VAT of 913.6 million euros and excise taxes of 414.6 mln euros.

 

Non-tax revenue formed 516.8 million euros, 23.6% less than at the same time last year.


The expenditures reached 4.3 billion euros, 49.6% of the annual plan. Expenditures grew by 534.7 million euros in a year or 14.2%.

 

The 2015 budget revenue volume is 8.45 bln euros and expenditures 8.67 bln euros.

 

By the end of May, the government sector budget deficit was 0.57% of GDP or 116.1 mln euros.
