Estonian state budget tax revenue grows by 10.6% in May

According to the Estonian Tax and Customs Board, the tax revenue collected by the state budget amounted to 499.4 million euros in May 2015, which is an increase of 10.6% as compared to the same time last year, LETA/Postimees Online reported.

In the first five months of the year, tax collection grew by 7.8% and 39.8% of the state budget was fulfilled.

 

Social tax collection growth slowed to 9% in May, but still exceeded budget expectations.

 

Personal income tax receipts exceeded also budget plans, considering that in five months 95.2 mln euros worth of income tax returns were made, or more than expected in the budget.

 

Corporate income tax receipts grew just 2.7% though in five months due to the cut in income tax rate.

 

VAT collection was in May 158.5 mln euros, by 27.7% more than a year ago.

 

Excise taxes collection fell by 3.4% in May.
