Latvian insurer Baltikums earns EUR 743,057 in 2014

The total amount of premiums collected by Baltikums in 2014 reached EUR 18.84 million. This is less than in 2013, when the company collected EUR 19.53 million.
The amount of insurance indemnities in 2014 reached EUR 11.43 million. This is one-fifth less than in 2013, when the amount of insurance indemnities reached EUR 14.38 million.
Net operating costs amounted to EUR 6.277 million in 2014. For comparison – in 2013, net operating costs reached EUR 6.816 million.
The majority of premiums written by Baltikums were for compulsory civil liability insurance of motor vehicles, land vehicle insurance, and health insurance.
The total amount of gross premiums written in 2014 reached EUR 20.347 million.
According to the Financial and Capital Market Commission, more than 50% of Baltikums shares are owned by BBG, 10-20% – by Baltikums Bank.
