Estonian state revenues exceeded expenses in 2014

According to the Estonian Ministry of Finance data, the Estonian state collected 7.82 billion euros in revenues and channelled 7.77 billion euros for expenditures in 2014, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Revenues amounted to 97.5% of the plan for the year, which is 206 million euros, or 2.7% more than the year before.

 

Expenditures amounted for 95.1% of the planned, which is 36 million euros, or 0.5% more than the year before.

 

The 2014 budget revenue was planned to be 8.02 billion euros, and the expenditures volume 8.18 billion euros.

 

Tax revenues received in 2014 totalled 6.64 billion euros, or 100.3% of the plan, which was 504.2 million euros, or 8.2% more than the year before.

 

Social tax revenue amounted to 2.23 billion, or 99.4% of the planned; VAT collection was 1.7 billion euros, or 101.4% of the plan, and excises collection was 836 million euros, or 99.9% of the annual target.

 

During the past year, social tax collection and VAT collection grew most, by 161.1 million and 146.3 million respectively.

 

At the end of November, the general government budget surplus was 0.65% of gross domestic product (GDP) or 126.8 million euros.

 

A year earlier, the budget was with 89.9 million euros or 0.49% of GDP deficit.
