Profit of Estonian banks fell by a quarter in 2014

Print versionBanks operating in Estonia earned a profit of 331 million euros in 2014, 25.2% less than in 2013, it appears from the financial statistics published on Monday by Eesti Pank, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Estonian resident financial institutions last year earned 335.6 million euros of profit and non-residents made a loss of 4.6 million euros.
The banks’ undistributed consolidated profit grew by 21.3% in a year, to 1,867.3 million euros.
The financial institutions’ balance sheet assets increased by 7.8% in 2014 as compared to 2013, to 21.2 billion euros.
The liabilities of financial Institutions increased by 9.6% to 18.5 billion euros in a year.
