BC, Tallinn, 23.01.2015.Print version
The share of Estonia's central bank Eesti Pank in the European Central Bank (ECB) bond purchase program is about 0.27%, which means that the Estonian central bank can buy securities for up to 162 million euros per month or a total of up to three billion euros, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In reality, this may be a somewhat smaller amount.

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi announced on Friday of a bond purchase program of 60 billion euros a month. Purchases will be carried out under the supervision of the ECB, but it will be carried out by national central banks according to their share of assets of the ECB system.

Bond purchases start in March and will last until the end of September 2016.
