SoDra expenditure exceeds revenue by LTL 600,000 in 11 months

In the first 11 months of 2014, the State Social Insurance Fund (Sodra) collected by LTL 600,000 (EUR 174,000) more revenue than projected. Revenue reached LTL 8.98 billion (EUR 2.60 billion), reports LETA/ELTA.

Based on preliminary data, in the first 11 months of 2014, compared with the same period last year, Sodra's revenue grew by 7.1%. The greatest share of revenue was from social insurance fees, accounting for 97.4% of revenue or LTL 8.74 billion (EUR 2.53 billion).

 

Even though revenue surpassed projections, Sodra's expenditure exceeded revenue by LTL 2 billion (EUR 0.58 billion). By November the State Social Insurance Fund's expenditure amounted to LTL 10.24 billion (EUR 2.97 billion), by 0.5% more than in the first 11 months of 2013.

 

73.6% of the total expenditure in 2014 was for pensions, i.e. LTL 7.54 billion (EUR 2.19 billion). 11% went for sickness and maternity payments, i.e. LTL 1.12 billion (EUR 0.33 billion). 3.4%, or LTL 345 million (EUR 100 million) was spent for unemployment benefits.
