Heating season begins in Riga

Today, the joint-stock heat supply company Rigas siltums will begin the 2013/2014 heating season by switching on central heating in 55% of buildings in Riga, the company has informed LETA/Nozare.lv.

Central heating will be switched on in 4,165 building, or 55.7%, including 316 education establishments and 72 medical establishments, as well as 3,294 residential buildings and 483 other buildings.

 

From September 1, the heating tariff in Riga is EUR 57.4 per megawatt hour.

 

As reported, Rigas siltums supplies heat to over 5,000 residential buildings and over 2,000 non-residential buildings.
