Construction of Lithuania's LNG terminal to continue around the clock

At the meeting of the Commission on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal in Klaipeda on Tuesday, company Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), which is implementing the project, asked the contractors to work around the clock, reports LETA/ELTA.

"The strategic energy project is nearing completion, thus it is necessary to follow the schedule even closer, to assess the quality of work and ensure reliable external and internal security. There cannot be even a slightest exemption or unforeseen detail in the construction process. The whole infrastructure of the terminal has to operate like a coherent mechanism," noted Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius at the meeting of the commission.

 

Rokas Masiulis, Head of Klaipedos Nafta, informed the head of the Government about the construction of the quay and the gas pipeline, installation of the main equipment, fire-extinguishing and other systems.
