Time-frame for building Balticconnector pipeline agreed

The parties involved in building the gas pipe Balticconnector between Estonia and Finland have signed the time-frame for the activities, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

According to the agreement, by the end of 2016, the parties will prepare an analysis on the exact cost of the project, and a decision for the investment ought to be made by the beginning of 2019 at the latest.

 

After that, construction works will be launched and the works ought to be finished in 2021 at the latest, said Press Spokesman of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications Rasmus Ruuda.

 

The agreement was signed by representatives of the relevant ministries in Finland and Estonia, Gasum, EG Võrguteenused and the European Commission. The agreement did not concern the issue of LNG terminals.
