Rõivas said that reduction of energy dependency is a priority of the Estonian government and in cooperation of the two states, the way our gas markets work can be changed. The Estonian government considers completion of the Estonian-Finish Balticconnector most important.

"This isn't just a matter of security, it is a matter of more choices and supply reliability and better prices for consumers," said Rõivas, noting that launch of the Estlink 1 and Estlink 2 electricity cables is a true success story of the interstate cooperation.

The prime ministers expressed hope that the European Commission can make financing decisions of LNG terminal and Balticconnector projects in June.
