Eesti Energia's Enefit oil factory finally starts working

BC, Tallinn, 10.04.2014.Print version
After a long delay, Estonia's state-owned energy giant Eesti Energia has finally managed to get its shale oil factory to work in a stable way, LETA/Äripäev.ee reports.

"As the result of 20 months of testing, development and inventing by the Eesti Energia oil industry specialists, Enefit280 now works in stable way," confirmed Eesti Energia spokeswoman Eliis Vennik.

She added that this proves once more that Estonia is an oil shale country and Eesti Energia's engineers have done what they promised. "Eesti Energia has never doubted that the Enefit technology works since the work of the Enefit140 oil factory is the everyday proof to that," said Vennik.

The oil factory was initially planned to be launched 1.5 years ago but technical problems constantly delayed its stable launch. The oil factory costs around 250 mln euros. In January, Moody's lowered Eesti Energia's rating, referring to the delays in the launch of the oil factory.
