The European Commission revealed on Monday a list of 250 energy projects that could receive EU support and the list includes Estonian, Latvian and Finnish LNG terminals too, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Paldiski and Muuga in Estonia, Inkoo in Finland and Riga in Latvia compete for the regional terminal project.

The European Commission recommends in the lust published today to support one of the four.

All these projects have the right to submit an investment application by the end of October. The decision on the location will be made over the next six months.

The 250 energy infrastructure projects can get support amounting to 5.85 billion euros.

Other projects from Estonia that are among the possible candidates for getting EU financing are connecting the Kilingi-Nõmme and Riga 2nd co-production station networks; electricity line between Harku and Sindi; simultaneous connecting of Estonian-Latvian-Lithuanian networks with mainland European grids; pumping electricity station in Muuga; Estonian-Finnish natural gas pipeline Balticconnector and improving the natural gas connection between Estonia and Latvia.
