Research and Development Council of Estonia recommends the Government to prepare for building a nuclear power plant, writes EPL Online/LETA.

The council consisting of researchers and politicians led by Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansip recommended to add developing nuclear energy to the list of priorities of the Estonia’s energy technology programme when discussing the draft of the said programme.

Although the council estimated that the debate on establishing a nuclear power plant in Estonia has only just been launched and no decisions have been made, it is important to start preparing experts on nuclear energy as soon as possible – both researchers and engineers.

Preparing specialists on nuclear power will also make it possible to make a more analysed decisions on preparing for the nuclear power plant project, concluded the Research and Development Council.
