Electricity price at NPS Estonian region fell in May

Print versionThe average price of electricity at the Nordic electricity bourse Nord Pool Spot (NPS) fell in May in all NPS price regions, including the NPS Estonian price region, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In NPS as a whole, the system price of electricity fell by 20% to an average of 36.87 EUR per MWh in May.
Estonian main grid company Elering said that the Estonian electricity bourse price fell by 14% to 37.14 EUR per MWh, being at around the same level as in the NPS Finland and NPS system price.
In May, the amounts bought at the NPS Estonia intraday market grew by nearly 40% to a record 18.4 GWh.
The price of natural gas imported to Estonia was stable in May at 32.95 EUR per MWh, Elering estimated.
