In comparison, heating debts stood at LVL 39.91 million in January 2013 and LVL 37.6 million in May 2012.

In May 2013, the largest heating debts were recorded in large cities – LVL 32.18 million, nearly LVL 10 million more than in January 2013, when heating debts comprised LVL 23.4 million. According to the association, heating debts stood at LVL 16.96 million in large cities in May 2010, LVL 29.54 million in January 2011 and LVL 20.41 million in January 2012.

In regions, heating debts reached LVL 12.24 million in May 2013, compared to LVL 16.42 million in January 2013.

Among large cities, the largest heating debts were registered in Riga – LVL 14.44 million, Jurmala – LVL 4.31 million, Daugavpils – LVL 4.13 million, Jelgava – LVL 3.43 million, Rezekne – LVL 1.82 million, Jekabpils – LVL 1.67 million, and Liepaja – LVL 1.3 million.

The smallest heating debts were estimated in Valmiera – LVL 337,000.
