LL Investicijos to look not only for oil but also for gas in Lithuania

Petras Vaida, BC, Vilnius, 17.06.2013.Print version
Lithuanian oil and gas exploration company LL Investicijos, whose 50% stake belongs to the U.S. oil company Chevron, is planning to begin exploratory drilling by Stempliai village in the district of Silute, informs LETA/ELTA, referring to Lietuvos rytas.

Researchers claim to look only for oil but the local community is sure that the company may be looking for shale gas as well. Lithuanian Geological Survey confirms it – LL Investicijos will have to look not only for oil but also for gas.

However, the representatives of the company say that they are not interested in gas. It is not the first mining of LL Investicijos in Stempliai village. The first tower near the village was built a few years ago.
