Green energy production in Estonia fell considerably in 3 months

Print version261 GWh of electricity from renewable energy sources was produced in Estonia in the first three months of the year 2013, which is by a third less than at the same time last year, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The volumes od electric energy produced of bio-mass and gas and hydro-energy fell most – by 50% to 133 GWh and 42% to 6 GWh respectively.
The amount of wind energy electricity grew by 10% to 122 GWh.
Renewable energy formed 9.6% of total electric energy consumption in the first quarter.
77% of the renewable energy received state subsidies in the first quarter. The total amount of subsidies was 10.8 million euros, which is by 42% less than at the same time last year.
