The management of the mining arm of Estonian state-owned energy company Eesti Energia, the Eesti Energia Kaevandused and the independent trade union of miners and energy workers have reached an in principle agreement on their collective labour agreement, thus miners won't start a strike they threatened with, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The miners gave up their 20% wage increase demand and agreed to 7% wage increase.

Trade union leader Vladislav Ponjatovski said that before the agreements are signed, some technical details and social guarantees still have to be discussed.
