According to Estonia's State Forest Management Center (RMK), approximately 300 to 500 working places have been created in Estonia, in forestry industry as a result of wider implementation of renewable energy sources, BBN/LETA reports. Among other, wooded chips in the Väo and Narva power plants were widely used.

Estonia's State Forest Management Center said that heads of private and state forests welcome the opportunity of selling low-quality timber to electricity and thermal energy generation plants.

RMK delivers wooden chips to Narva Power Plants, the subsidiary of Estonian energy enterprise Eesti Energia, and to the Väo co-generation plant that belongs to Dalkia.

RMK sells to the Narva Power Plants approximately 17,000 cubic meters of wooden chips and to Vao Power Plant – about 6,000 cubic meters of wooden chips per month.
