Litgrid: Kaliningrad power system's isolated operation test went smoothly
BC, Vilnius, 22.09.2020.Print version
The Kaliningrad power system's isolated operation test did not cause any problems over the weekend, Lithuania's power transmission system operator Litgrid said, cites LETA/BNS.
"The Lithuanian electricity transmission system operated according to a plan worked out in advance," it said in a comment to BNS. "There were no deviations or problems in the system".
Trading in electricity imported from the Russian exclave was halted during the test which started at 10 a.m. on Saturday and ended at 6 p.m., as planned.
The first such test was carried out in Kaliningrad in late May and lasted for 72 hours.
Isolated operation tests in Kaliningrad are planned to be conducted annually until Lithuania and the other Baltic states disconnect from the post-Soviet BRELL system, which they expect to do by 2025.
