Elektrum Lietuva: Wholesale electricity prices fall across Baltics for 2nd week running
BC, Vilnius, 14.07.2020.Print version
Wholesale electricity prices fell in all three Baltic countries for the second week in a row amid increased cross-border energy flows within the region and higher-than-usual flows from the Nordic countries, Elektrum Lietuva said.
Average electricity prices declined by 7% in Nord Pool's
Lithuanian bidding area, by 9% in Latvia and by 6% in Estonia to the same level
of EUR 30.17 per megawatt-hour (MWh), the independent electricity supplier said
in a press release.
The three Baltic countries' total power consumption
decreased by 3% to 448 gigawatt-hours (GWh). Their overall electricity
production covered 48% of the region's needs.
