Lithuania's avg electricity market price ticks down EUR 0.01 w/w - Elektrum Lietuva

BC, Vilnius, 21.11.2018.Print version
Lithuania's average electricity market price last week ticked down by 1 euro cent to 53.74 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh), the same level as that in Latvia, where the price edged up by 1% Elektrum Lietuva said LETA/BNS.

The average price in Estonia rose by 9% w-o-w to 53.32 euros, the independent electricity supplier said.

It attributed the general upward trend last week to lower hydro and wind power production due to dry and calm weather conditions.

Prices were also driven up by a decrease in the power transmission capacity of the EstLink interconnection between Finland and Estonia due to technical maintenance.

The Baltic countries' total power consumption grew by 1% on November 12 through 18 from a week earlier to 559 gigawatt-hours (GWh), rising by 1.1% to 246 GWh in Lithuania, by 1.3% to 147 GWh in Latvia and by 0.6% to 166 GWh in Estonia.
