Lithuania's avg electricity market price falls 21% w-o-w

Print versionThe average price of electricity in Nord Pool Spot's Lithuanian bidding area dropped by 20.9 last week from a week earlier to 32.09 euros per megawatt-hour, Litgrid said on Monday.

"The average price fell steadily throughout the week. Increased imports from Sweden had an impact on this," the power transmission system operator saide.
"The capacity of power interconnectors between Estonia and Latvia continues to be restricted due to maintenance at Russia's transmission grid," it said.
Electricity production in the Baltic countries declined by one-tenth week-on-week, with the largest decrease registered in Latvia. Lithuanian power plants' output declined by one-fourth.
Lithuania last week imported 83% of its electricity, with 27% of imports coming from Latvia, Estonia and Finland, 48% from Sweden and 25% from third countries.
