BC, Vilnius, 08.06.2017.Print version
Electricity price will remain higher than usual on the market on Friday, therefore, Unit Nine of the Elektrenai power plant, which is operated by the Lietuvos Energijos Gamyba (Lithuanian Energy Production, LEG) will generate electricity, LEG spokesman Valentas Neviera confirmed to LETA/BNS.
As the repairs of the NordBalt power interconnection with
Sweden continues, electricity price in the Lithuanian bidding area of the power
exchange Nord Poll will reach 45.48 euros per megawatt-hour, which is about 30 %
above the usual level.
High electricity prices continue on the market for the whole
week, however, LEG only produced
electricity on Monday and Tuesday. Electricity price stood at about 44 euros on
Wednesday and Thursday, however, the LEG capacities
were not needed due to lower power demand on the market.
Launched in early 2016, NordBalt was closed for repairs last
Saturday and should go back online on June 18.
